A superb effort by Briana Erran spurred St. Mary's Knights Varsity to a 27-4 win in five innings over Alhambra on Wednesday.
Erran racked up eight RBIs on four hits for St. Mary's Knights Varsity. She homered in the first and second innings and singled in the second and third innings. Eighteen runs in the opening three innings allowed St. Mary's Knights Varsity to easily put away Alhambra. A bases loaded walk by R Ortiz, a hit by pitch, a home run by Erran, an error, and a three-run triple by Danielle Ruiz in the first inning and a solo home run by Erran, a two-run single by Brianna Garcia, an RBI single by Miah Rodriguez, and an RBI single by Erran during the second inning fueled St. Mary's Knights Varsity's offense early. St. Mary's Knights Varsity hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for St. Mary's Knights Varsity came when Maite Bustillos homered in the fifth inning. Bustillos got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over five innings. She struck out six, walked one and surrendered 10 hits. St. Mary's Knights Varsity easily handled Alhambra pitching as eight hitters combined for 21 hits, 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored. E Torres couldn't get it done on the rubber for Alhambra, taking a loss.
