St. Mary's Knights Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Shadow Mountain and captured an 18-0 victory on Thursday at Shadow Mountain High School.
With 12 runs in the first three innings, St. Mary's Knights Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A two-run single by Briana Erran, a two-run home run by Miah Rodriguez, and a passed ball in the first inning and a two-run home run by Erran, an error, a bases loaded walk by Valenzuela, and a three-run double by Brianna Garcia during the second inning fueled St. Mary's Knights Varsity's offense early. Garcia racked up five RBIs on two hits for St. Mary's Knights Varsity. St. Mary's Knights Varsity's Maite Bustillos kept Shadow Mountain off the scoreboard for all five innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six. Valenzuela couldn't get it done on the rubber for Shadow Mountain, taking a loss.
