St. Mary's Knights Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Camelback and captured a 14-0 victory on Friday.
With 14 runs in the first three innings, St. Mary's Knights Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A bases loaded walk by Danielle Ruiz, a two-run error, a wild pitch, a passed ball, a wild pitch, and an RBI double by Brianna Garcia in the first inning and a two-run triple by Briana Erran during the second inning helped St. Mary's Knights Varsity put some runs on the board early. Garcia had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. Maite Bustillos recorded the win for St. Mary's Knights Varsity. She pitched five shutout innings. Bustillos struck out five, walked none and gave up two hits. Alexis Armstrong couldn't get it done on the rubber for Camelback, taking a loss. She allowed 10 runs in one inning, walked eight and struck out none. St. Mary's Knights Varsity added four more runs in the bottom of the third.
