Miah Rodriguez did all she could to give St. Mary's Knights Varsity a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Westwood, as St. Mary's Knights Varsity lost 7-4 in seven innings at Westwood High School on Wednesday.
Rodriguez racked up four RBIs on one hit for St. Mary's Knights Varsity. She homered in the seventh inning. #15 got the win for Westwood. She allowed four runs over seven innings. She struck out three, walked three and surrendered seven hits. Maite Bustillos was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out two. Westwood never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on two singles. Westwood pushed across two runs in both the second inning and the fourth. In the second, Westwood scored on an error, plating #2. Westwood built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth. A clutch scored #4 to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by #15's double, scoring #13. Four runs in the top of the seventh helped St. Mary's Knights Varsity close its deficit to 7-4.
